After almost ten years in Singapore, it’s finally time to say goodbye. We are really excited about our new life in the new country, but at the same time a bit sad too…. Singapore was our beloved home…. We came there with nothing, just the two of us…. Then we found jobs, got married, started a family…. everything happened in Singapore. So many memories….
Last weekend we went to Marina Bay area. With the new Downtown line mrt, it was much easier and faster to go there. Usually, the trip would take almost one hour by bus, but now it would take less than 20 minutes.
We’ve been to Science Centre Singapore so many times, but only last week we managed to visit KidsSTOP, an edutainment centre for children, located inside the Science Centre complex.
Carla really loves cats. She’s been wanting to adopt a cat for quite some time now, but unfortunately at the moment it’s just not possible. Fingers crossed, by the end of this year we’ll have a new house with enough space for a cat (and another cat, plus a dog, a couple of ducks, a couple of chickens and maybe a hamster…. said Carla and Renan).
Anyway, I came across this website, thecatmuseum.com.sg. I didn’t know there was a cat museum in Singapore!
So, last Saturday we decided to check out the place. We took the train to Bugis, and after a quick lunch at Bugis Junction mall, we walked to the Cat Museum which was just a quick stroll from the mall.
Yesterday, on the third day of Jubilee weekend, we went to Singapore Botanic Gardens. We wanted to watch free concerts and National Day Parade live telecast at Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage.
We took the bus to Botanic Gardens MRT…. free ride for everyone yesterday! From there, we took the shuttle bus to the other Botanic Gardens entrance, and walked to the concert venue.
On the way there, we made a quick stop to check out the carnival around the Bandstand. There were a number of booths offering food and drinks, snacks, face painting, henna painting, games, botanical art, nail art, and many more….
Hi everyone, first of all, we’d like to say happy 50th birthday to Singapore, a place we’ve been calling home for the past eight years 🙂
There are so many things going on across Singapore over the Jubilee weekend as Singaporeans and long term residents of Singapore like us celebrate the national day.
So, what have we been doing this long weekend?
Brazil Churrasco…. I just have to write a review about this restaurant. This is one of our favourite places to eat in Singapore….
We moved to Singapore in 2006. We had been in the country for less than one week when we found out about this restaurant. On our very first night out in Singapore, we went to Brazil Churrasco, and we’ve been going there regularly ever since then. We even had our wedding dinner in Brazil Churrasco….
