Hi everyone, first of all, we’d like to say happy 50th birthday to Singapore, a place we’ve been calling home for the past eight years 🙂
There are so many things going on across Singapore over the Jubilee weekend as Singaporeans and long term residents of Singapore like us celebrate the national day.
So, what have we been doing this long weekend?
On Friday, the first day of the Jubilee weekend, it rained all day long…. Luckily we still managed to go for a swim in the morning just before it started raining. We didn’t do much that day, just relaxing at home and going to the supermarket for our weekly grocery shopping.
Yesterday, Saturday, it rained a bit in the morning, but then it became sunny, so we decided to go to Sentosa.
Sentosa offers so many activities to enjoy over the Jubilee weekend from 7 to 10 August…. Musical performances at the Beach Station, dress-up stations and Sentosa Merlion Magic Lights at the Merlion Plaza, traditional game competitions, more musical performances, and Sands of Time, a sand sculpture display at Siloso Beach….
Usually we take Sentosa Express from level 3 VivoCity mall to get to the island, but yesterday the queue was too long, we just had to walk all the way there.
It was fun! The kids stopped to play along the way….
Once we got to Siloso Beach, our two little beach bums didn’t waste any more time! We actually wanted to check out the Sands of Time exhibition, but it could wait…..
Aaah, bliss…. 🙂
We stayed a the beach until 7 pm…. By the time we finished packing up, showering and stuff, the Sands of Time exhibition was already closed! Boohoo 😦
Oh well. We went to Sapphire Pavillion to have dinner. There are food and drink stalls serving local food there during the Jubilee weekend.
Eating chicken satays while enjoying the view of the beach…. Perfect! 🙂
After dinner, we walked back to Merlion Plaza to watch the Merlion Magic Lights. So beautiful…. Too bad Renan was already asleep at that point….
The fun continues until tomorrow, Monday 10 August…. And remember, there will be FREE cable car joyrides tomorrow from 9 am to 9 pm!
As for us, today we plan to enjoy our long weekend at Singapore Botanic Gardens…. Lots of fun activities and musical performances there too….. Let’s have fun!
