Hawai Water Park Malang

Back in Singapore now…. We had such a fun and relaxing holiday last week in Malang! This time we didn’t really do much… We mainly just stayed at home, went out only to visit relatives or to go to eating places…..

We managed to go to Hawai Water Park, though. It’s a brand new attraction in Malang, just opened last month.

We went there last Tuesday. We arrived at around 2 o’clock in the afternoon.

As usual, Carla didn’t waste any more time…. Soon she was playing and splashing happily in Hawai Water House, a water playground with big and small slides, great for all ages.

…. As for Renan, at first he didn’t want to play…. After a few minutes, he started playing, but then he complained that the water was too cold. It was indeed very cold.

We then decided to go to Waimea Stream River. We rented a huge double float, and we all jumped in it….. We floated around in the river slowly…. we went under the bridges a few times, we also went inside a tunnel with waterfalls and water sprays, and there was a part of the river with violent waves!

Carla wanted to do a second round, but Renan didn’t want to go around in the river anymore…. So, Mamae and Renan got off the float, while Papai and Carla continued with their river adventure.

Renan and Mamae played in Mavi Island, a playground for younger kids…..

We also played a bit in the Water Plaza….. But then Renan started to feel cold again and didn’t want to stay in the water anymore. So, we went around the water park and took photos.

They look fun, right? But remember, some attractions have height and/or health restrictions, so do check first!

There’s a pool too if you just want to swim…..

Anyway, something happened when Mamae and Renan were going around taking photos…. Apparently the float lost its balance in the part of the river with big waves, so Papai fell under water and Carla flew in the air and fell in the water too!

Carla was quite shaken after the incident, but she quickly got over it and was soon ready for another exciting ride…. The Tsunami at Waikiki Beach.

Can you spot the lifeguards? There were so many of them all over the place, so that was a big thumb up for Hawai Water Park!

It was almost closing time when the Tsunami was over, so we changed and went home. There was no hot shower, so we didn’t have a shower there. Too cold!

All in all, we had fun in Hawai Water Park, but there are a few things that can be improved…..

-The water park closes at 4 pm on weekdays, and 5 pm on weekends. That’s too early! Indonesians don’t like to stay out in the sun. It’s a fact! Most people would only come after 3, so if the opening hours can be extended to 6 pm on weekdays and 7 pm on weekends, that would be much better. There are already a foodcourt and a musholla (Muslim praying room), so people wouldn’t have a problem to stay there until late.

-The water was so cold…. Malang is blessed with cool weather all year round, so if there’s a way to make the water a bit warmer, that would be greatly appreciated by everyone!

-Maybe can provide hot showers? πŸ˜‰
